About Me

My Photo
Jordan Jackson
Seattle, Washington, United States
I began gardening in the Cascadia Garden in Seattle when I was a small child in the 1960s. I got a Certificate in Garden Design from the University of California at Berkeley in 1990. I designed 3 gardens in the Bay Area. I returned to the Cascadia Garden in 1992. I designed 100 gardens in King County, 1 in Long Beach California & 1 in Anchorage Alaska. I designed 4 gardens for the Sunset publication Low-Maintenance Gardening in 1998, & developed plant lists for the Pacific Northwest. I joined the Northwest Horticultural Society & the Washington Native Plant Society. I hiked extensively in the Cascades. I wrote articles for the Northwest Garden News in 2006 & 2007. I opened the Cascadia Garden every year to members of the Northwest Perennial Alliance starting in 1994. My garden was on the only Mt Baker Garden Tour in 2005. Horticulture students from Edmonds Community College visited the garden in 2007. 1 of my designs appeared in Sunset magazine in February 2007. That garden was on the West Seattle Garden Tour in July 2007. I began writing garden articles for Gardening in Cascadia in 2008.
